  Job description: Lead Systems Engineer (Microsoft Active Directory)  Provides highest level troubleshooting on unique problems unanswered at lower levels.  Serves as highest level technical resource for an enterprise-wide application.  Recommends systems integration required to support business applications needs.  Performs lead role in reviewing vendor proposals and making recommendations.  Leads implementation and deployment efforts on large projects.  Directs others in projects or assignments.  Demonstrates expert understanding of servers and utilities by designing methods to ensure high performance.   Demonstrates expert knowledge of disaster recovery procedures. Articulates expected benefits and potential limitations of product solution to users. Assesses implementation options and recommends most appropriate process to the client. Champions adoption and leads implementation of new technologies. • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in performing quality control and quality assurance procedures by executing test plans/scripts of highest complexity and clearly identifying all issues surfaced. • Identifies overall business and technology risks to customer and Office Depot through all phases of development. • Applies expert understanding and maintains accountability for ensuring compliance with appropriate technology standards and methodologies. Lead Microsoft Active Directory Engineer Summary:  Provide engineering, systems maintenance, and 3rd level support of Office Depot’s Active Directory environment as a member of a Global team. Position to leadengineersupport present AD infrastructure with associated tools and with added input to Exchange 200x, Outlook 200x, Blackberry and CiscoSymantec systems and tools. Primary Responsibilities: • Provide design and support for the Office Depot Active Directory infrastructure that supplies continuity within inter-corporate business Service Level Availability (SLA) agreements. • Strong planning, process improvement and quality measurement skills with a focus on delivering operational efficiencies, increasing shareholder value and Corporate financial strength. Provide quotes and architectural expertise for large-scale projects. • Develop a plan for a Global Active Directory Design. Within the design, establish Global policiesprocedures and provide a recommendation for a necessary Global service support model regarding Active Directory. • Produce dailyweeklymonthly reports towards Active Directory capacity, performance and availability metrics. • Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery Plans for the Active Directory environment. • Provide on-call and third-level production support for the Active Directory environment and overall Wintel team. • Maintain and update documentation for the Active Directory environment. • Provide added support to Lead Exchange Engineer and assist in deploying production Symantec Mail Security systems complete with Anti-spam and Premium Content Control components. • Provide added support to Lead Exchange Engineer in design and support of Office Depot’s Email archiving systems and Exchange database Journaling. Experience: • Minimum 8+ years experience with Microsoft’s Active DirectoryWindows Server 2000, 2003 (64bit experience a definite plus), Microsoft Exchange server and Networking technologies. • MCP certification required, MCSE certification preferred. • Proven track record of accurate troubleshooting skills. Must demonstrate the initiative and provide the ability to analyze all serverOS
etwork related issues to determine the appropriate course of action. Escalate to next level within the proper formatted structure. • Proven track record in areas of confidentiality and security. Ability to earn trust by keeping confidences, being direct and honest. • Ability to set priorities and apply all gained knowledge and new insights to improve processes and results. Must provide evidence of proactive tendencies towards these types of improvements. • Interpersonal Attributes: Collaborative, collegial, respectful and culturally sensitive. • Proven track record in Active Directory engineering and delivering large-scale national and global initiatives. • Strong knowledge of  both Active Directory 20002003 and ADAM. Must have design and architecture experience in both these areas with additional skills in Exchange 2007 and the process attributes to upgrade from Exchange 2003 to 2007. • Ability to perform a disaster recovery of Active Directory. • Experience with applications that authenticate to Active Directory and Active Directory delegation. • Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting Active Directory replication, troubleshooting  FRS replication and creating roubleshooting Group policies. • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting DNS. • Experience in ADMT 3.0 or 3rd parity tools used for migrations.
