Logistics Planner/Analyst Supervisor

Core Roles:

The Logistics Planner & Analyst will be responsible for managing the master matrix of transportation mode, transit-time, and freight costs to move all Gymboree brands from factory turn-over at origin to the national distribution center.  This person will plan and schedule the timely movement of goods in consideration of distribution center requirements and the allocations schedule.  S/he will communicate within the Logistics group, and also to external partners in Production as well as Allocations and Planning.  The Logistics Planner & Analyst will take ownership of efficiency goals including maximization of container capacity and minimization of freight expenses.  S/he will also manage monthly reporting on key performance indicators and individual line reviews.  This person will collect and manage international rate schedules and keep current, comparative data on all vendors.  The Logistics Planner & Analyst will take the lead in driving efficiencies in the data-exchange programs with multiple external and third party logistics vendors. This person will be responsible for analyzing freight expenses by category and brand compared to forecast and budget.  The Logistics Planner & Analyst will constantly be identifying and evaluating opportunities for cost savings.

Minimum Requirements:

BA with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.  Must have a basic understanding of transportation and logistics.  Emphasis should be in planning, scheduling, cost time analysis, and fact-based-critical decision making.  The candidate should have a strong grasp of the interface between business process and information systems.  Practical experience with an enterprise solution development a plus.  Strong skills with MS Excel required and MS Access a plus.  Strong negotiating, problem solving, planning, organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) a must.  Must be able to work well with others and coordinate multiple tasks in a team environment.
