MANAGER, HR OPERATIONS

Furniture Brands International is seeking the position of Manager, HR Operations, at our Clayton, MO, corporate headquarters (Metropolis; Saint Louis).
Furniture Brands International, Inc. seeks a manager to lead the HR operations group in our newly forming Shared Services function in the corporate offices. This position will be located in the Corporate offices in Clayton, MO, with some travel to our brand locations in North Carolina or Mississippi. The manager will report to the Director of Employee Services and will be responsible for day to day operations, management of HR transactional data, business processes, and oversight of the HR help desk.
The Manager, HR Operations will manage in-house PeopleSoft HR processing operations for over 10,000 employees located nationwide; be responsible for timely, accurate, and efficient processing; ensure HR Transactions are processed in compliance with federal/state labor and tax regulations; develop, implement, and administer HR Administrative policies and procedures in coordination with the organization’s overall direction; standardize methods and practices and streamline business processes for HR operations; provide leadership to operations team to ensure that customer service standards are developed, maintained, and consistently followed; provide ongoing training to staff to ensure that productivity and knowledge of the overall HR Operations process are maintained and improved; ensure desk procedures for operations are current and easy to follow; develop open and clear lines of communication with internal groups (i.e. HR, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Staffing, IT, Treasury, Accounting), field HR, and third party outsourcing providers and participate in and/or lead various special projects as identified by management to support Corporate and Shared Services initiatives.
Required Qualifications include 5+ years of related experience with at least 3 years HR Transactional and Operations management and employee supervision required; prior experience managing complex, HR data transactions, capture, approval, and recording; prior experience with various employee types for manufacturing, distribution, retail (commission) and salaried workforce; a strong functional knowledge of HR administration; extensive knowledge of HR regulations and practices; ability to meet production requirements within expected time frames; demonstrated ability to manage a staff, provide direction, and lead a team toward goal achievement in a shared services environment; demonstrated ability to develop working relationships and solve problems; demonstrated ability to manage change and re-engineer processes; strong commitment to customer service; organized, self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to shift priorities; excellent communication skills; both written and verbal; excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills and ability to synthesize and analyze information quickly and make informed decisions. Travel will include approximately one trip monthly from Clayton to North Carolina or Mississippi.
Desired Qualifications include functional knowledge and experience working with HR Operational Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint; hands on knowledge of PeopleSoft HR, Benefits, and Payroll Education; Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred and PHR preferred
