Man Alive District Sales Manager

Man Alive, is a subsidiary of The Finish Line Inc., and is one of the leaders in the hip-hop apparel industry.  We are currently seeking District Sales Managers to complement our Man Alive team.  These positions will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of store operations within a specific geographical region, preferably based in or around New Orleans or Baton Rouge. District Sales Managers serve as the primary link between the corporate office and individual stores.  Responsibilities for the District Sales Manager role will include, but not be limited to: 

 

· Select, train and develop Store Managers, monitor in-store training programs, and counsel under-performing managers when necessary

· Visit stores (requiring frequent travel) to ensure that they are complying with all Company policies and guidelines and assist in resolving specific problems and issues as they arise

· Monitor the sales performance of all stores in the district and take the necessary steps at the field level to maximize each store’s sales potential

· Monitor and control all expenses in the district, as set forth in corporate budgets and forecasts

· Communicate with the Director of Stores, as well as corporate departments regarding issues such as merchandise distribution, loss prevention, human resources, etc.

· Direct, through Store Managers, the compliance of store personnel with established Company policies, procedures and standards

· Periodically inspect each store within assigned district to ensure the store’s adherence to proper store visual appearance

· Periodically evaluate performance of all Store Managers in the district

· Staff stores within the district with suitable management candidates, and transfer managerial personnel, where necessary, to further ensure proper staffing

 

Qualifications:

 

· Bachelor’s degree along with 3-5 years of multi-unit retail management is preferred, but extensive experience as a store manager in a high volume retail store will also be considered

· Experience in the urban retail industry is preferred

· Proven success in recruiting and retaining top talent

· Frequent travel is required; generally 3-4 days per week

· Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
