Directs the activities of the Allocation team to ensure proper initial merchandise assortments, quantities and sizes by stores to meet the company's objectives in achieving sales, inventory management and profitability. Collects, evaluates, and analyzes all relevant data for designated category/categories of business. Develop strategies and establish control-related standards and procedures. Lead, develop and manage the allocation team. Establish control-related standards and procedures.Responsibilities- Develops and manages allocation and replenishment strategies. - Directs the activities of the Allocation team. - Partners with Buying and Planning teams to develop and execute consistent strategies - Directs the store ranking process by category groups for 3 major seasonal buys (Spring, BTS and Holiday). - Manages total store and category inventory to planned levels and initiates adjustments and needed. - Monitors stores/styles to ensure that all appropriate model levels are maintained and fulfilled - Leads, develops and motivates the allocation team. - Trains associates on all aspects of allocation (Process, Models, Ranks and Systems). - Develops and maintains necessary merchandising reports for key components of sales, inventory levels and turnover, relating to allocation of product. - Creates new reports as needed. - Evaluates and recommends enhancements to tools and systems used to drive the allocation of product retail business.Requirements- Minimum 4-6 years prior experience in Retail Allocation and/or Planning. - Proven experience in allocation and replenishment process. - Bachelor's Degree (BA) or equivalent from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experienceSkills- Strong computer skills to include Excel, Email, and other relevant Retail applications (experience with Island Pacific, MMS and Arthur Planning a plus). - Strong analytical skills and ability to multitask is essential. - Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees and others with whom the company conducts business. - Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, procedures and other business practices, guidelines and documents. - Follows through with all tasks, assignments and job duties in a timely manner.Vans is an equal opportunity employer and will make selection decisions without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability or veteran status.
