Manager - Finance, Creative Services/Polo Store Development - Retail

Purpose and Scope: Responsible for providing financial and operational support related to corporate accounts including receivables, rebills, intercompany, capital and departmental expenses as well as the installation and renovation of licensee stores.


Responsibilities:

Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports and supporting documentation to cost center managers. Prepare summary level reports for assessing department performance, including monthly management reports. Review monthly licensee project budgets for accuracy and reports out variances and budgetary risks. Analyze operating results against department budget and prepares forecast.
Analyze and review financial data, including invoices, budgets and labor rates to ensure validity, accuracy and completeness. Collect and analyze data in support of operating and strategic initiatives and prepares trend and variance analyses. Perform special analysis, prepare reports and makes recommendations on financial performance.
Support the closing process of the division and all reporting packages submitted to corporate financial reporting.
Conduct monthly variance analysis and reconciliations with cost center managers. Prepare department entries such as reclasses and accruals. Prepare and review rebills monthly to report potential exposures in uncollectible.
Review actual performance against departmental budgets, alerting management of potential areas of exposure and recommending solutions to ensure on-budget performance. Maintain financial reports and spreadsheets for the analysis of information.
Track capital expenditures and provide guidance on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the treatment of capital versus operating expenditures.
Coordinate and support the department budget process in accordance with corporate policies and departmental guidelines. Provide budget templates and guidance to assist management through the budget process.
Review budgets to ensure completeness and consistency with stated objectives/direction. Ensure timely submission of budgets and budget reforecast to the Finance department. Serve as a Finance resource in providing information on departmental performance and variance analyses.
Provide bi-monthly forecasts to Corporate finance for all Creative and Shop Development cost centers/operating budgets. Manage the forecast and identify cost initiatives to bring over budget forecasts back in line.
Liaison with all licensees to obtain signed agreements, deposits, and issue final billings. Work with designers to account for actual spend compared to budget, including tracking of travel expenses and props.


Job Requirements:


BS/BA degree in Management or Accounting/Finance
4-5 years experience in a related area.
Must be proficient in all MS Office applications, with advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with Lawson Financial is a plus.
The candidate should also have sound business process knowledge and demonstrated abilities in applying business/financial principles.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to influence, and demonstrate confidence in communications with senior level management.
Strong analytical abilities and financial analysis skills are required and must have the ability to manage conflict.
