Manager in Training

Job Description

As a Store Manager in Training (MIT) you will be learning the role of the Store Manager and how the business is operated.  An MIT is either assigned to a specific store, ormay be asked to travel to other stores within an assigned geographic area (within a reasonable commuting distance).  In either case, the MIT is learning from an experienced store team and should be ready to be assigned as a store manager within the 60 days of hire. 



The Store Manager is the Key Leader in the total operation of the store.  Every aspect of the business, from visual presentation to associate training, and customer relations is in your court.  In this hands-on position, you make decisions in both merchandising and operational areas that impact your store and the entire organization. Your challenge is to integrate all aspects of your store and to provide a smooth running, efficient, and productive operation.  You are responsible for the financial success of your store as well as maintaining positive associate morale and customer loyalty.  In summary, you are responsible for:Overall performance of the store Managing staff and resources to generate maximum sales Recruiting and development of staff Maintaining store appearance and merchandise presentation Controlling store expenses, payroll budget and shrinkage dollars Implementing and communicating all company driven initiatives and policies

Job RequirementsMinimum of two (2) years retail management experience Strong working knowledge of retail operations and merchandising Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills for interactions with both customers and staff Strong leadership skills to coach, lead, develop and motivate store associates Strong working knowledge of computers and software applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook  High school graduate or equivalent GED, bachelor degree preferred
