Merchandise Assistant

 A unique role within NBC’s Retail Operations department, which will give prospective employee experience within a buying organization. 

 

Merchandise management – 40%Lead role in purchase order management.Work closely with buyers on merchandise needs.Communicate with vendors on merchandise availability. Write, print, and fax purchase orders.Track merchandise shipments to warehouse and store.Set up products in inventory system. Vendor Set Up and Compliance – 40%Responsible for all aspects of vendor setups and managing vendor database.Gather information regarding all products manufactured overseas.Communicate with buyers, vendors, and auditors the progression of audit steps – from audit initiation to closure of findings.Manage database of licenses held by department, tracking expiration dates and key business terms.Finance – 20%Assist in coding invoices and submitting to AP.Responsible for aging reports and following up with vendors on payment. 

Salary 40K, health and vacation benefits with 401K matching option, experience with merchandise and/or inventory software a plus. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft software and a college degree a must.
