Merchandising Executive

Starcrest Products of California, Inc., is a major, national mail order company located in Southern California. Since our opening in 1971 and our move to Perris in 1984, Starcrest's catalogs have seen the likes of one third of the households in America. Now, we are seeking an experienced merchant to manage our fast paced merchandising department.

Responsibilities include determining product selection, quantities, re-ordering, inventory turn and product quality analysis. Position requires strong problem solving skills and  possession of a mathematical aptitude. Reponsibilities also include sourcing new vendors as well as keeping vendor communication. Training new buyers and managing the process through approximately 40 direct and indirect reporting employees are some of the other responsibilities of a Merchandise Executive.

The ideal candidate must have 10+ years experience in merchandising with Retail/Buying experience. Must be an excellent negotiator, as well as have analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills. The candidate should have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Lastly, the ideal candidate must be polished, professional and savvy.
