SUMMARY

The National Inventory Control Manager works closely with the Regional Operations Managers, Sales Managers, and Warehouse personnel to evaluate, plan and monitor specific inventory levels to meet demand forecasts and corporate financial objectives. These decisions are optimized based on understanding of the appropriate inventory levels necessary to support the Company's sales order fill rate objective balanced against seasonal peaks, delivery lead times and financial goals.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

· Analyze, manage and maintain inventory levels aimed at specific desired days of inventory on hand optimized against seasonal peaks and sales order fill rate objectives.

· Prepare and issue Purchase Orders according to needs determined by inventory levels and sales orders.

· Monitor order/delivery status, stock outages, inventory turns, forecasts, and inventory stocking levels for all facilities and provides early warnings on late deliveries in order to take corrective actions.

· Determine, evaluate, and redeploy obsolete and excess inventory; collaborate with regional Sales Managers to orchestrate promotional sales of excess or slow moving inventory.

· Calculate and publish slow moving and obsolete supply on a monthly basis.

· Lead the transition of discontinued products to new replacement products.

· Monitor and measure back order frequency and report variance from corporate sales order fill rate objectives.

· Establish and coordinate physical inventory counts and reconciliations.

· Recommend standard policies & procedures to ensure adequate control of all purchases and inventories.

· Maintain accurate inventory data including new inventory item set-up, product codes, product names, authorized substitutes, and stocking levels for supply planning and inventory management.

· Maintain updated SKU’s, pricing, freight, and installation data for all products
Execute strategies to improve fill rate performance, reduce inventory levels, and increase turns.

· Manage Vendor/Customer RMA Process

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Competencies

· Inventory Management Principles – in-depth knowledge of Comparative Forecast Calculations, Stocking Level Analysis, Inventory Turn Analysis, Inventory Ranking, and Financial Analysis with respect to inventory.

· Computer / IT - database organization, access, retrieval and analysis techniques, including ERP and Excel software programs.

Education and Experience

Bachelor degree (BA) or equivalent from a 4 year College or University in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration and minimum of five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in an ERP environment is a must.
