PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT

We are currently seeking a PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT to be responsible for day-to-day payroll account reconciliations, journal entries, and management reporting.

 

 

Essential Duties (included but not limited to):

·  Prepare semi-monthly payroll journal entries, accruals and reclasses.

·  Analyzes reports and data.

·  Prepare monthly payroll reports for distribution.

·  Adhoc reports as needed.

·  Payroll account reconciliations, such as 401K, benefits, garnishments, etc.

·  Research and analyze local, state and federal tax issues.  Drawing valid conclusions and resolutions.

·  Unemployment, employee verifications.

·  Build and maintain positive working relationships with TPAs.

 

Position Requirements:

·  Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.

·  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

·  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and/or employees.

·  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

·  Understanding of basic accounting.

·  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

·  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

·  Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions.

 

 

Technical Requirements:

·  Above average knowledge of Payroll and Human Resource systems.  Specifically, ProBusiness and PowerSource

·  Knowledge for Peoplesoft financials.

·  Knowledge of Internet and E-Mail systems.

·  Windows MicroSoft applications, including Excel, Word.

·  General knowledge of accounting principles.
