Paralegal

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Associate Counsel in the performance of legal activities with respect to real estate development, lease administration, and general legal matters. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: Research leases as requested by associates both within and outside the Legal Department. Prepare draft legal documents such as Lease Termination Agreement, Leases, Subleases, Lease/Sublease Extensions and Amendments, Pharmacy Purchase and Sale Agreements, Corporate Resolution, Lease Renewals, etc. Prepare Department Head Memos, Rent & Percent Rent Setups and Rent Stops distributed to associates throughout the company. Interact with internal and external contacts with regard to various Real Estate legal issues. Draft correspondence to landlord, tenants and agencies involved with real estate transactions. Complete various office duties such as answer the telephone, fax, copy and file. Typing speed of seventy (70) WPM. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Associate's degree (AA) in Paralegal Studies, plus one (1) to three (3) years' of paralegal training in a private, public, and/or corporate law practice; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
