PetSmart is an Equal Opportunity EmployerWith many positions offering relocation packages, learn more about Life in PhoenixJob Responsibilities: This influential professional will provide strategic direction for all People related activities for PETsMART’s corporate Supply-Chain organization as well as the Distribution Centers including Staffing, Leadership Development, organizational effectiveness, training, performance management, associate relations and labor management (positive associate relations). DEPARTMENT EXPECTATIONS: • Provides leadership to the field People Director. • Partners with the DC Leadership team to support operational strategies. • Communicates policies and procedures; benefits and compensation programs. • Drives the recruitment effort for all management associates. • Works closely with the Leadership team to establish and forecast People needs. • Coordinates the succession planning process and identifies associate potential, for future opportunities, potential successors and critical backups. • Fosters the continual creation of opportunities for growth and development • Identifies training needs and helps to execute learning programs that address Supervisory Development, leadership and technical skills. • Serves as the primary driver of positive associate relations, conflict resolution, recognition and fostering proactive and open communication. • Advises and guides the corporate and field associates in the proper use and interpretation of company policies, procedures and programs. • Ensures compliance with any legal or regulatory changes pertaining to labor, wage and hour and employment laws. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree and minimum 10 years Human Resources Generalist experience required. Experience directing HR strategies for a major retailer with nationwide distribution centers also required. SPHR or Master’s degree in related field is helpful.
