Photography Stylist

Our growing in-house creative agency is seeking a talented Photography Stylist to assist with the production of our catalogs and advertising. For this role, you must have hands-on photography styling experience with luxury brands.

 

Responsibilities Include:

 Hands-on styling of our product for photography on location and in studio with a good eye for composition and anglesResearching, shopping, and preparing props/setsSelecting props that are appropriate to the product and the brand, enhancing each product
without distractionStyling of grouped items and furniture sets for photography prior to photo shoot for advanced planning and proppingReviewing and becoming familiar with product upon arrival, and following up with art directors and buyers to obtain specific direction and understand the products’ best selling features and benefitsComposing and styling furniture and room scenes at a high interior design levelPhysically receiving and checking in product samples in the photo studio and on location, working closely with product sample coordinatorsCoordinating with merchandise sample coordinators and art directors for upcoming photo shootsKeeping track of late and missing samplesCommunicating photography shot list or sample discrepancies to art directors and photographersAttending turn-in meetings to take notes on the buyers’ direction regarding productAttending photography review, pre-production, and other department meetings Ensuring that photography lists are being completedTaking inventory and maintaining sets and propsMaintaining a clean and efficient photo studioAssisting with moving sets, merchandise, and propsProviding general photography team supportAssisting in maintaining quality control of our photography and stylingResearching the industry for new styling techniques and looksPreparing product and sets for photography: iron, steam, clean, paint, and perform other prep workEnsuring final deliverables meet both design and production requirements, focusing on accuracy and timelinessDemonstrating sound design and photography principles with an understanding of lighting and composition

 

Requirements:

 The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional experience as a Photography Stylist and an outstanding portfolioGood organization skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlinesWorking knowledge of Macintosh software and equipmentBA or BS in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, or related field Must be detail oriented, flexible, and resourceful with a “can do” positive attitudeMust be able to travel out of town for on-location photography shoots approximately 10 days each
