Location San Francisco, CA 94103Status Full Time, EmployeeJob Category Sales/Retail/Business Development Job Description Planner - Macy's West Corporate Offices: San Francisco Overview of Position: In partnership with management, effectively plan and control inventories at the location level to maximize sales, inventory, turn and profit. Ensure the company's commitment to be in stock on key items and replenished merchandise. Direct the distribution of goods to achieve store sales/turn/gross margin goals across area of responsibility. Key Accountabilities: Perform in-depth analysis of data, prepare forecasts and create action plans to maximize business Develop plans by store and vendor, based on trend store profiles, competition, and seasonal conversion issues. Identify location growth opportunities and provide recommendations to merchant partners. Review total financial plan with Buyer/ DMM to ensure partnership in achieving goals Profile target customer by location to ensure customer satisfaction Monitor stock levels for key items and determine sell thru and key item impact Communicate with Regional Merchandise Manager on business opportunities, assortment needs and stock levels Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for events  Recap and analyze results by locations for advertised merchandise Maintain collaborative partnership regarding business opportunities, assortment needs, and stock levels with internal colleagues.  Monitoring replenishments of inventory.  Adjust models to assist in meeting and exceeding overall sales and margin plan.Skills Summary:Must have previous experience working in a merchant organization as a Planner/Buyer/Associate Buyer/Associate Planner or similar position. Must have strong analytical skills Numbers oriented and attention to detail Must have a vision of how merchandise should be presented or grouped Understand store profile Strong sense of urgency Curious nature and creative thinking Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work with all levels of management, including principals Ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintain deadlines Strong problem solving and decision making skills Ability to travel when necessary College degree or work-related experience to include Windows 2000, Lotus Notes, Word and advanced Excel (i.e., using formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
