Ross Dress for Less offers first-quality, in-season, name brand and designer apparel, accessories, footwear and home fashions for the entire family at everyday savings of 20% to 60% off department and specialty store regular prices. dd's DISCOUNTS features a more moderately-priced assortment of first-quality, in-season, name brand and fashion apparel, accessories, footwear for the entire family at everyday savings of 20% to 70% off moderate department and discount store regular prices as well as similar savings on a wide assortment of merchandise for the home.     POSITION OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for the planning, development and execution of all assigned DC engineering and cost reduction projects. The Process Improvement Engineer has the task of looking for every opportunity to simplify all DC processes to take inefficiencies and related costs out of current processes and by applying engineering design support and Lean methodology identified improvement opportunities. Additional responsibilities include partnering with DC Operations and Training to provide cross functional project support. As process change ideas are implemented, the Engineers will also be responsible for creating process documentation and control with DC Operations and Training.  RESPONSIBLITIES: Using Lean methodology, creates process improvement projects for the DC. Specific goals to be determined annually. Responsible for managing process improvement projects through to completion.  Responsible for providing engineering & maintenance support and direction to the DC.  Responsible for preparation, maintenance and updating of all new engineering documentation relating to new processes implemented. Ensure Training has current best methods training in place.  



QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: - Four-year degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent field, MBA preferred - Ten or more years related experience; discount retail distribution operations preferred. - Ability to manage a team of Industrial Engineers. - Lean experience in a DC setting, Black Belt level preferred. - Strong operations knowledge of distribution and related processes preferred. - The ability to effectively communicate and interact at many organizational levels including non-exempt associates, operations supervisors, and high-level management. - Working knowledge of time study, work measurement methods, engineering economy, material handling design and warehouse management systems. - The ability to think in terms of process flow and identification of component operations and interrelationships. - Detail-oriented with strong organizational and technical writing skills. - Experience in using PCs in a professional setting ? developing and using standard applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and word processors as typical tools to execute.
