Position: Product Development Manager, Soft Home

Job Summary:

Responsible for the successful development and execution of domestic and direct programs for Hanover Direct, Inc. ( HDI ).  Represents HDI in dealing with agent/supplier base, assuring appropriate protocols are followed. Manages the development process to include conception, specifications, standards, sourcing, costing, and sampling of programs are in accordance with intended design and time and action calendar. 

 

ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with merchant on brand position, financial goals, and trends relevant to the brand Collaborates with merchant / design to ensure quality standards required by the brand position Act as a liaison between merchant, supplier, and design Manages development and communication of total spec package of product from conception to delivery Establish and maintain design / product development timeline to meet the needs of the overall brand objectives Coordinates with merchandise team on a weekly basis on status of projects Communicates with in country teams, direct to supplier or agent to ensure timely and relevant development of products Responsible for meeting gross margin and quality goals as defined by the brand position Develops and maintains vendor matrix in support of HDI ’s financial, quality and service benchmarks Responsible to review all product for final approval and authorization of QA letter

 

Education

Bachelor of Science in Merchandising, Textile Management, Fashion Design, Business Administration and/or equivalent directly related to work experience.

 

Experience

Three (3) to Five (5) years of professional experience in home fashion product development, merchandising and/or manufacturing

 

Skills and Abilities

o Interpersonal skills to function both domestically and internationally

o Organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

o Planning and analytical skills

o Strong technical skills, computer abilities and overall business acumen



Location

The Corporate office is conveniently located in Weehawken, New Jersey, and 7 minutes away from Manhattan via NY Waterways, easily accessible by public transportation and offers free parking.
