JOB TITLE:  Purchasing Assistant

REPORTS TO:  Director of Merchandising 

JOB Summary:  Assisting all functions of the Purchasing Director

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Confer with suppliers concerning late deliveries Enter purchase orders in system and send copy to the supplier General Administrative Duties General Marketing Duties Call on past due purchase orders

 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Request Catalogs from new & existing vendors Update Purchase Order past due dates in controller Compile customer suggestions Maintain vendor e-mails Filing Maintain order acknowledgments from vendors Other duties when necessary

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:Excellent oral and written communications skills Very organized, and demonstrate attention to detail Analytical thinking is an important asset, often required to prioritize their own job 1 year of related work experience Product Knowledge Mathematical skills, computer skills, and reasoning skills needed Good vendor relations
