QA Retail Operations - Facilities Support

Company: Whole Foods Market Status: Full Time, Employee Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Location: Boston, MA 02114 Job Category: Quality Assurance/Safety Education: Bachelor's Degree Job Description Typical work activitiesWork with a new, diverse team of retail quality assurance experts based in the US and Europe who will interact directly with Seafood, Bakery, and Prepared foods production facilities on quality related issues.  Provide support in the areas of technical training and advice regarding quality systems and continuous improvement processes.  Be capable of supporting the development of team audit and administrative procedures.  Work with regional retail operations and their suppliers to deliver continuous improvement.  Assist with the investigation and resolution of product safety or quality issues.If home based, must be located near a major International airport. Preference is either West or East coast home base.  Proven track record of successful food safety operations in production facilities. Bachelor’s degree (BS) with primary focus on biology or public health from four year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Minimum five years food safety experience with specific experience, large foodservice operations, commissary operations, and food production establishments.  Strong technical knowledge in HACCP, ISO, Quality Systems, Federal/State and International food safety legislation.  Proven skills in incident and corrective action management.   Knowledge of recipe and product development and specification management. Ability to travel around 60% of the time.  Must be able to travel internationally if needed.  Experienced in the management and effective implementation of pest control, sanitary design, GMP and cleaning programs.  Knowledge of/experience with natural and organic foods and standards.    Strong experience with data management, spreadsheet, presentation and word processing software needed.  Exposure to MS Sharepoint a plus.  Excellent communication including presentation, written, verbal and listening skills. Solid background in technical training.  Knowledge of WFM policies, procedures, products, stores, vendors, culture and marketing.
