Regional Manager

Job Function/Purpose The primary function of Regional Manager position is to oversee a defined region of stores and ensure that all company operations, customer service, selling, visual, marketing and merchandising standards are properly enforced.  Responsible for hiring and training qualified District Managers.  Works closely with District Managers on creating and implementing ways to drive business.  Ensures the provision of fair and positive work environments in assigned locations.  **We are currently seeking Regional Managers in Indianapolis, Detroit and Columbus Essential Job Functions:§ Regular and punctual attendance for all scheduled work hours.§ Ensures that all corporate operational, selling, customer service, marketing, visual presentation and security procedures and programs are properly executed in each store through out the region.§ Ensures that the District Managers make regular, quality visits to their assigned stores§ Ensures that the District Manager completes store evaluation reports according to company standards.§ Communicates weekly with the Vice President, Director of Stores, providing business trends and feedback.§ Researches and develops a plan of action to improve sales and profitability for underperforming stores within the region.§ Analyzes monthly profit and loss statements and develops a plan of action to maximize profits within the region.§ Allocates, approves and reviews monthly payroll plans for stores and districts within the region.§ Monitors and approves payroll functions including reviews, raises and new hires.  § Conducts second interview with all Store Manager candidates.§ Recruits, trains and develops District Managers.  § Ensures that succession planning and bench building is being executed in the region.Essential Job Functions Continued:§ Gives constant and consistent leadership, communication, direction and guidance to District Managers.§ Develops communication with stores, District Managers on merchandise, competition, marketing, ect. and communicates this information to the appropriate department at the corporate office.§ Ensures that all employees within the region receive customer service, visual, marketing, and operational training.§ Assists in on going planning of store inventories with the District Manager and the Planning Department.§ Works with corporate office personnel and District Managers to respond to store problems and needs.§ Meets deadlines on project and field expenses. Other Functions: Requests maintenance improvements of current stores to the Vice President, Director of Stores. Researches information on potential new store locations. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications: Retail selling experience. Retail Management experience. Substantiated performance record at District Manager level or external Regional Manager experience. Proven record of recruiting and developing personnel. Demonstrated expertise in visual presentation, customer service, and store operations. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to make decisions based on the needs of the business. Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. Ability to lift 40 lbs and use general equipment such as hammers, ladders, two wheelers, ect. Extensive overnight and airline travel required.  Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Basic computer and email skills. Valid driver’s license.
