Regional Safety Coordinator

Our client, one of the nation’s leading retailers, is seeking a Regional Safety Coordinator for its Greater New York region.  This position will supply safety expertise to 35-40 stores from Buffalo to Long Island. 

This position can be domiciled in any one of the 35 markets in and around the State of New York where a store exists.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be responsible for communicating safety policies, procedures and department protocol with all associates.  You will also be responsible for creating and updating safety training programs to ensure they meet or exceed industry and regulatory standards.  Additional responsibilities include communicating with safety vendors and regulatory officials.  You will also perform additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

The minimum requirements of this position are:
1. 1-2 years of experience in a safety capacity for a manufacturing, healthcare, retail or public safety organization. 
2. Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI and other applicable federal, state and municipal laws and regulations pertaining to safety, life safety, environmental safety and industrial hygiene is also required. 
3. A Bachelor"s Degree in Safety, Environmental Safety, or other Safety Science is required. 
4. Requires 60% regional travel including occasional overnights.

Salary can be up to the mid $60,000 range and is bonus eligible.
