Retail Marketing Manager

Currently, we are looking for a Retail Marketing Manager to join our retail marketing team. The primary purpose of this role is to develop and execute customer marketing plans that generate profitable growth for Rockport and its customers, while building Rockport brand equity in the marketplace. The goal of this position is to provide superior retail marketing support for the Independent and Partner/Concept channels of business to achieve corporate goals of driving Premier independent and Rockport Retail growth.

Key Accountabilities:
1) Create annual customer marketing plans. Effectively connect Rockport marketing platforms with customer strategies.
2) Develop and drive seasonal marketing concepts for retail application.
3) Execute seasonal customer marketing plans from briefing to store level execution across all aspects of marketing. Work cross-functionally with area leaders to drive programs to resolution.

Art & copy '2D' creative: Signage, retail advertising and other elements.
Visual '3D': Fixturing and seasonal displays.
Events and Promotions: Planning and day-of execution.
Sales Associate Programs: Planning and deployment.
Retail Advertising: Local market media, creative development and execution.
Co-Op: Partner with sales to ensure effective, integrated use.

4) Deliver customer marketing innovation.

Proactively surface original ways to market Rockport based on changing marketplace factors such as retail, consumer and marketing trends in addition to customer strategies.
5) Provide customer marketing expertise.

Demonstrate a deep understanding of the customer including core marketing practices, market position, consumer insights, Rockport advantages/opportunities. Use this knowledge to create distinctive customer marketing plans.
6) Manage marketing budgets and program profitability.
7) Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
8) Effectively present marketing plans and the Rockport brand.

Deliver persuasive oral and written marketing presentations to senior leadership, at trade shows and in custmer meetings. Steer the creation of distinctive brand presentations at sales meetings and trade shows, when applicable.

9) Conduct retail marketing plan and program analysis.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1) Strong knowledge of retail and retail marketing. Experience with, and an understanding of, core brand marketing areas including the creative development process. Footwear or apparel industry experience preferred.
2) Excellent project management skills. Organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task and problem solve. Reliable.
3) Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to interact effectively with many functional areas (sales, brand marketing, creative designers, visual merchandisers, retailers), and with all levels of company personnel. Proven presentation abilities. Able to communicate effectively and persuasively. Great listener.
4)Flexible work style. Can work well independently and within groups. Able to smoothly shift gears and to handle a heavy volume of work, under deadlines, and in a team environment.
5) Thought leadership. Able to lead a group strategically as well as get
in the trenches' and work at the detail level. Able to think creatively, but also analytically.
6) Solid analytical and strategic abilities. Able to define a marketing problem or to identify a strategic shift, then collect data and establish facts to provide a marketing solution.
7) Financial acumen. Must possess and regularly apply strong business skills (budget management, financial analysis, retail math).

Qualificiations and Experience:
6+ years retail marketing experience.
Bachelors degree in business, marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
Footwear or apparel industry experience preferred.
Previous experience managing direct reports.
**Retail experience a must**
