SDO Sr Training Specialist - San Francisco, CA

Primary Purpose:To deliver and implement training programs and materials that support SOP’s (standard operating procedures), major company goals and objectives in the NAD Staples Delivery Operations. Works with associates, managers, and internal departments at all levels to ensure successful implementation of Logistics training initiatives. This position is regionally aligned with the SDO Directors.Responsibilities: Oversees implementation of skill and procedural based training programs within the Staples Delivery Operations.  Master complex subject matter to support all departments within the Staples Delivery Operations  Works directly with diverse operational units to gain specific, current knowledge of the business unit in order to serve as a credible training resource  Makes real-time decisions with managers/supervisors, and other Staples associates to adapt actual training delivery and implementation to varied situations as needed.  Serve as a role model, mentor and coach to internal customers and other team members.  Participates in the selection, hiring, and development of Lead Driver trainers.  Conducts train-the-trainer programs to ensure all trainers are properly prepared to deliver programs.  Implements associate and management development training to selected participants.  Participates in the development of high potential Leads.  Serve as Project Leader in the implementation of specific programs. Communicate directly with key operational stakeholders to determine implementation strategy.  Maintains proficiency in the systems and procedures underlying the training programs.  Recommends changes and adaptations to training materials/programs based on actual experience gained when implementing.  Develops and administers tools to measure effectiveness of training programs and required skill compliance. Makes recommendations based on these measurements to address and minimize risks and ensure program integrity.  Audits training compliance and ensures compliance with all NAD logistics metrics  Support LP (Loss Prevention) and HR training initiatives.Requirements:Minimum four (4) years training and/or related business experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Works well with people of all levels within the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Experience with sales, management and/or systems training processes required. Excellent platform skills required. Knowledge and experience with the Staples North American Delivery functions preferred. Travel is required 60-70% of the time.
