SQA Lead of Connected Products - Desktop Applications

Summary:Lead the QA testing efforts of desktop applications for Leapfrog’s multiple internet enabled devices and the application integration with web technologies. Address methodologies for application testing across multiple platforms and operating systems, embedded browser testing, testing of device connectivity to consumer PC/Mac. Drive innovations in the software testing process that result in high quality standards, increased efficiencies, and reduced costs. Job Description:The SQA Desktop Application Lead is responsible for leading multiple projects and directing testing teams, both internal and external. The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:·  Create, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases in a timely and efficient manner on all assigned projects·  Actively lead the QA testing of internal testers and external teams.·  Provide leadership and support for QA project team members.·  Assist in hiring of new Core Testers and seasonal temporary contractors·  Define process improvements to ensure the highest levels of quality in the shortest time frames. ·  Drive automated and manual testing approaches for maximum efficiency and effectiveness in quality assurance. ·  Work closely with Producers, Engineering, and Studio Leads to create the highest quality product, with a focus on website, databases, and pc applications·  Estimate and scope functional, integration and system testing from functional and design specifications·  Monitor project schedules and budgets to insure on-time deliverables and budget compliance·  Participate in the identification and reporting of risks and mitigation plans·  Provide bug metrics/reports to project teamRequirements:·  4+ years of Quality Assurance experience with a thorough knowledge of software development lifecycle principles and QA methodology·  2+ years experience Leading testers in a structured setting·  Proven track record with project/test management/planning experience·  Ability to write test plans, test cases, and test scripts through use of various forms of documentation (flow charts, technical specifications, functional specifications, etc)·  Ability to write automated test scripts·  First hand knowledge of all aspects of the software development process ·  Excellent communication skills; oral and written·  Excellent time management skills; must be able to manage multiple tasks/assignments with staggered deadlines and due dates.·  Strong decision making, problem solving, and analytical skills·  Self-motivated, self-starting individual with drive to work independently Knowledge & Skills:Experience with black box and white box testing ·  Solid working knowledge of SQL and XML Experience in testing SOAP applications Experience in testing desktop applications Experience in testing database applications Solid working knowledge of Windows and Mac platforms and operating systems (XP/Vista, Mac OS X) ·  Experience in leading offshore QA teams ·  Experience in writing, configuring, and running automated testsExperience in testing embedded browsers a plus ·  Familiarity with debugging tools a plus·  Experience in testing desktop applications that integrate web technologies a plus·  Experience with Issue Tracking Software; familiarity with TestTrack Pro a plus Education & Training:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technical
Communications, or the equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
