We are hiring ROUTE SALES REPRESENTATIVES for Birmingham, AL and surrounding areas to sell and merchandise our products in Grocery, Drug, and Mass retailers.

 

The basic servicing steps are:

1.  Check-in with Department Management.

2.  Proof to Plan-O-Gram.

3.  Verify 100% Shelf-Tag integrity.

4.  Write order on handheld computer.

5.  Pick order from truck.

6.  Check-in order with retail store receiver.

7.  Pack-out product onto shelf.

 

Duties include: completing each day’s assigned service visits to all customers within the assigned territory, merchandising products to company standards, ensuring proper product placement and maintaining shelf conditions, minimizing out of stocks, rotating products to prevent spoils/product deterioration, setting up and maintaining promotional displays, and other duties as needed.

 

Essential Work Activities: Performance of physical tasks and use of commercial vehicles (for hosiery delivery to multiple, scheduled customers within a defined area) Selling and influencing (for activities like selling products or services, routinely contacting customers for confirming deliveries, or presenting ideas and issues to co-workers and leaders) Planning and executing (for the day's activities and new product marketing and service initiatives) Relationship-building and maintenance (with actual and potential customers, co-workers, and managers) Route administration (for daily administrative and financial reporting)

 

Minimum Requirements: High School diploma (or GED equivalent) Ability to lift and carry products weighing approximately 20 lbs Ability to travel overnight 4 - 5 days per month. A valid driver's license, with less than 2 driving-related incidents in the last 3 years 21 years of age or older.

 

Success Criteria:

In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, successful RSRs have demonstrated: Firm commitment to personal values; a strong work ethic Prior sales and delivery experience Good organizational skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills A sincere willingness and desire to learn continuously.

 

Compensation: First-year compensation for this opportunity is $36,000 - $44,000, depending on experience and performance. Commissions and bonuses, earned through achieving specific, achievable goals and objectives, present the opportunity for significant additional earnings.
