Security Investigator I-District 51 / SCRT2379

Position Description:

The Vons Division’s Loss Prevention Department has an opening for Security Investigator I.  This position will cover District 51 (Covering areas of the Inland empire, Foothill cities,and Pasadena).  Qualifications:• Retail Loss Prevention experience a must!• 2+ years college and 2-4 years additional experience in field, required.• 5 years experience in retail store work or law enforcement.• Experience conducting in-depth criminal and civil investigations.• Thorough knowledge of warehouse operations.• Proven ability to prepare clear and concise reports.• Strong ability to interview witnesses and suspects, testify in legal actions, union hearings, and unemployment hearings.• Strong ability to train warehouse personnel on security matters.• Ability to handle diverse situations.• High degree of initiative and motivation.• Good time management.  Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Assist Security Director in handling security related matters involving warehousing activities such as employee theft.• Supervise and train contract guard service, inventory shortage reduction, and internal investigations of misappropriation.• Assist law enforcement with investigations and prosecutions.• Provide adequate securing of all company assets and property.• Receive/initiate investigations on employee theft, vendor theft, and inventory/warehouse shortage.• Interview suspects and witnesses and prepare in-depth reports on all investigations.• Testify in a variety of hearings and court actions.Salary:   Grade 22.  Beginning salary range is $55,400 to $65,900.   Actual beginning salary will be based on the responsibilities of the job and the candidate's experience.Closing Date: May 19, 2008Respond to: On line at www.safeway.com/employment
