Senior Accountant This position is responsible for the monthly close, the preparation of journal entries, coordination with external auditors, and the preparation of general ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis. In addition, this position will be responsible for research and resolution of unusual transactions and special accounting projects as required, and will interface with other departments to resolve accounting issues. Primary Responsibilities Ensure proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and company policies. Participate in month-end close activities including the preparation and review of journal entries and review of budget-to-actual reports. Assist in the preparation of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q. Assist the SOX team on compliance with the Company’s internal control provisions. Understand, develop, and enforce proper accounting practices and internal controls. Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled with resolution to reconciling items. Manage the day-to-day accounting operations and maintenance of accounting records. Prepare quarter/year end audit schedules for external auditors. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the other teams, as required. Proactively pursue business issues impacting the general ledger. Perform other duties and special projects, as required. Job Qualifications 2-4 years experience in accounting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Big 4 experience, preferred. Retail or manufacturing experience, preferred. CPA, a plus. Highly organized with the ability to manage various projects simultaneously. Must be highly accurate and detail-oriented. Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and high-pressure.
