Senior Business Analyst IS

The Senior Business Analyst works independently or in small teams with relevant Staples' departments and external community to analyze and document complex business problems, business systems and process requirements of a given initiative; potentially spanning internal and external business entities. Uses a variety of analytical tools and techniques relevant to the given initiative and has strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Has a broad working knowledge of Staples' business requirements and aligns the requirements to Staples' strategy and vision. Possesses detailed knowledge of one or more business processes or functions. Understand and gather business needs and requirements from a diverse set of stakeholders and be able to effectively compile and document these needs for systems design and developmentAssist business with identifying, designing and implementing new processesAdd value by understanding our business partners needs and providing options and recommendations on how best to meet those needs.Provide input to project plan and risk assessment, then manage tasks to project scheduleManage the competing needs of multiple stakeholdersDevelop and maintain strong partnerships with the Retail business areasCoordinate and execute vendor selection processesConduct internal, external and industry related researchContribute to testing requirements framework (scope, validation, planning, execution) Qualifications Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred 3 - 5 years related business analysis experience relative to IS implementationsTraining course work towards Business Analyst certification is preferredExcellent communication skills including verbal, listening, written documentation, influencing, facilitation, presentation skills for technical or business audiences regardless of levelAbility to create and execute effective requirements work plansExperience in eliciting and documenting requirements resulting in quality deliverables with limited direction. Works well with others - attention to positive team dynamics Must exhibit strong self initiative and sense of urgencyEffective use of business modeling techniques: Process, workflow modeling and use casesDemonstrated experience in business process development and improvementExperience in the Retail industry preferred Apply
