We’re a leading consumer-driven footwear company and wholesale supplier of women’s fashion shoes to U.S. department stores under brand names like Naturalizer, Via Spiga, Franco Sarto and LifeStride. We’re a marketer and supplier of brand-name, private label and licensed footwear to department stores, mass-merchandisers, and independent and specialty stores.Do you speak Shoe? Assures delivery of top-quality creative work that meets clients’ marketing objectives. Assures integration of verbal and visual messages through collaboration with design staff. Assures that copy in all communications effectively connects with target audience, compels them to shop our stores and website, and reinforces our brand positioning.Position Essential Functions: Builds and develops a brand voice that responds to our customers’ needs and motivations. Conceptualizes and writes copy for newspaper tabs, in-store signage, broadcast advertising, ecommerce, REWARDS, and other materials. In partnership with Art Director, evolves message strategy to remain fresh and relevant against competitive forces. Researches current trends, ideas and terminology to better position Famous Footwear as a fashion authority to customers. Teams with design staff to assure integration of verbal and visual messages. Participates as a member of brand strategy teams. Understands importance of strategic relationship marketing to create loyal brand “evangelists.”Position Specifications: Educational Preference: BA Degree in Journalism or English 7-10 years experience in writing. 5+ years experience at an advertising agency, magazine, or in-house creative department Job Experience Preference: Excellent command of the English language. (i.e. spelling, grammar, punctuation). Must be able to communicate thoughts and creative concepts to clients and management. Must be able to problem-solve by identifying issues and finding alternative solutions. Must be able to negotiate with clients to advocate for strongest possible copy. Proficient at making presentations of project solutions to clients and management. Knowledge of shoe/apparel industry and a sense of fashion.
