Our Senior Designers are responsible for designing and creating innovative, commercially viable product that delivers value and style for the assigned consumer segment and the Dockers brand, as well as supporting the development, evolution and communication of a brand look that supports and deepens the Dockers  value and identity. The position creates seasonalcollection  platforms & concepts, and identifies consumer relevant product opportunities based on global market research. Responsibilities also include creating fit, fabric, finish, sundries and trim developments, and managing the seasonal calendar and design process to meet assortment plan and source location requirements.The right candidate will demonstrate the ability to build and develop a creative design team, and sustain effective partnerships with Merchandising, Product Development & Sourcing to ensure products are engineered to profit and quality/aesthetic goals. 

 

The position requires a degree in Design or related discipline (successful work experience may be substituted for a degree) plus a minimum of 7 years of design experience, including 5 years as a designer or lead designer in a company setting or design firm. We are looking for a creative design professional who demonstrates thorough business understanding along with a passion to create leading edge design ideas that will grow the business and enhance the brand. Understanding and appreciation for merchandising and product development processes, including the ability to influence and work across different disciplines, is essential. Must possess computer literacy/fluency with design related applications.The right candidate will also have the demonstrated ability to lead a team to achieve the goals of a common vision. Effective oral and written communication skills, including presentation and public speaking skills, are also required.
