Senior Financial Analyst

We're building dominant and compelling assortments in hardware, bath, lighting, textiles and furniture. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for performing a variety of complex financial and business analyses. Data must be obtained from multiple sources and compiled into actionable information. The SFA must be able to validate data and separate relevant from irrelevant facts. The SFA is expected to be able to draw business conclusions from their work and recommend courses of action. Due to the fast-paced nature of retailing, the SFA will be expected to juggle multiple priorities and must be comfortable with change. The candidate must be able to take initiative and work within tight deadlines. Areas of Proficiency The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of retail concepts including, but not limited to: Store Operations Inventory planning and allocation Supply chain and distribution Payroll and staff planning Merchandising seasonality Sales and gross margin Additionally, the SFA should be proficient with financial concepts such as: Net Present Value Capital versus operating expenses Return on Investment P&L, Balance sheet and Cash Flow Principle Accountabilities The SFA will be responsible for: Creating monthly forecasts Analyzing and validating monthly close with business partners and accounting Analyzing actual P&L versus budget and last year Creating annual and long range plans Loading and balancing forecast and budget data Creating various cause of change analyses Creating and publishing various business analyses Preparing management reports and other ad-hoc analyses Knowledge and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will meet the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Five years financial analysis experience with knowledge of GAAP Must be detail orientated Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Hyperion Essbase experience is a plus Ability to effectively communicate financial data upwards. Solid experience in Financial Modeling.
