Location huntington, NY 11743 Status Full Time, Employee Job Category Sales/Retail/Business Development Senior Merchandise Manager---Bloomingdale's Huntington Overview: Senior level executive responsible for directing the merchandising and support functions for a designated group of businesses. Primary focus on making department's floor customer-ready for business. Key Accountabilities:Direct flow and placement of daily merchandise receipts Coordinate activity with Receiving Team Manager Direct merchandise related financial functions Work closely with Group Managers to coordinate daily/weekly activities for greatest effectiveness and productivity Direct maintenance and stock-keeping activities in back of house Execute merchandise presentation to Department/Visual standards Ensure replenishment of merchandise to drive service, sales and gross margin Facilitate merchandise floor moves Set directions and tasks for sales support teams Responsible for staff scheduling Develop staff to achieve excellence in merchandise presentation, shortage control, departmental policies and back of house standards Maintain collaborative partnerships and negotiate effectively with internal colleagues Train, motivate, and develop team to ensure effective performance through consistent on-the-job training Participate in skills assessment process and develop individual executive performance objectives, challenging direct reports to reach optimum performance level Create and maintain a positive work environment for direct reports Skills Summary:A minimum of 5 years of operations/merchandising retail management experience preferably in a full-line department store Productivity driven, task oriented and highly organized Strong communication and leadership skills Effective prioritizing and time management skills Talent for selling floor merchandising Strong administrative and negotiation skills Ability to plan and execute strategies Bloomingdale's is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V
