Sneaker Villa, a rapidly growing Philadelphia, PA based premier urban lifestyle retailer, has an outstanding career opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in its Philadelphia, PA headquarters.  Established in 1989, Sneaker Villa currently has 17 stores located in the urban neighborhoods of Harrisburg, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Reading, York, Norristown, Bethlehem, Allentown, and Wilmington. POSITION SUMMARY: Formulates, plans, organizes, supervises, and implements a strategy focused on community improvement and education through planned activities, events and programs.  Develops and maintains close, positive relations with community and civic leadership and groups to positively impact the community surrounding Sneaker Villa store locations.

Develops, maintains, and administers Sneaker Villa’s Employee Scholarship Program.

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Represents Sneaker Villa at community meetings and events; assists in promotional activities to achieve maximum useful publicity of the organization and its community minded philosophy. Accompanies Director of Corporate Administration when developing new store sites to introduce and present Sneaker Villa’s community enrichment values. Serves as Sneaker Villa’s liaison in the political arena.  Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with County and State officials; works directly with officials to enhance company image and advance objectives; seeks out local/state funding opportunities to enrich community initiatives, programs, and events that support Sneaker’s Villa’s philosophy. Works directly with organizations including but not limited to: PAL, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Olivet Boys and Girls Club, community colleges, Literacy Council, Neighborhood Housing Services, Habitat for Humanity, Emergency Shelters, Community Action Organizations, Salvation Army, YM/YW CA to determine needs and provide assistance when and where it is required. Develops strategic plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for community relations/enrichment.  Manages budget and expenditures for community enrichment activities, events, and programs. Works within Sneaker Villa’s community guidelines for allocating funds and resources. Develops community initiatives or programs that demonstrate Sneaker Villa’s commitment and philosophy. Assists with the marketing efforts to coordinator the Branding of the “Join the Movement” initiative.  Provides necessary information and feedback to the marketing company ensuring a uniform message across all communities serviced. Prepares and releases internal and external reports, articles, and publications to promote the public and employee understanding of and support for Sneaker Villa’s community enrichment and education programs. Develops programs to increase employee involvement. Manages the process for tracking employee and overall store volunteer hours. Assists the Merchandiser in the presentation of the Community Fixture. Provides information for the company newsletter within a timely manner. Develops programs and provides education to assist Philadelphia Futures and other similar organizations. Performs effective evaluation of events. Performs other tasks as assigned.

 

SERVICE PROJECT GUIDELINES Uses the service project forms effectively to manage all of Sneaker Villa’s community service projects. Develops a communication process to inform Sneaker Villa employees, customers, and the community about upcoming service projects. Submit a detailed recap report, within 48 hours of project completion.  The recap should include photo’s, statistics, measurements, press coverage (if any), along with the Pros and Cons.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Requires a solid knowledge of business and an excellent command of the English language. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy. Analytical ability is required in order to research, gather, and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative challenges, and prioritize work.
