Sr. Compensation Analyst Performs staff support activities to develop, implement, and administer compensation policies and programs. Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements to ensure company compliance with federal and state laws governing compensation practices; when necessary, recommends appropriate courses of action. Recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation related problems. Assists in planning, developing, and redesigning company compensation programs and analyzing costs. May administer both domestic and international programs. Primary Responsibilities Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. Contacts pertain to significant matters often involving coordination among groups. Performs advanced compensation analysis and modeling of data to provide a foundation from which Company decisions can be made. Audits jobs for content and prepares job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements. Participates in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive total compensation information to determine the Company's competitive position and makes recommendations. Assists in the identification, development, implementation and administration of compensation tools and systems. Reviews proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies and practices, and makes recommendations. Formulates recommendations regarding development of company salary structures, FLSA exemptions, job revisions, and organizational structures. Prepares special studies and recommendations on subjects such as incentive compensation, bonus plans, sales compensation and/or equity based rewards. Develops, administers and assists in the communication of the Company’s compensation programs. Will support the implementation and maintenance of the Company’s HRIS application. Performs and may lead on other compensation projects as assigned. Job Qualifications A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related discipline is required. Professional certification such as CCP or advanced degree is highly preferred. Equivalent experience may be accepted. A minimum of 6 years of directly related experience is required. Previous experience working in the retail or retail related industry is preferred. Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal and state compensation laws and regulations is required. Extensive experience using compensation surveys, conducting FLSA exemption tests and developing job descriptions is required. Must be able to work with a high attention to detail. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong computer skills and experience with HRIS software is required. Must possess advanced Excel skills. Must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be able to demonstrate time management, priority management, planning and coordination/multi tasking skills.
