  Job description: The Sr. DBA (SQL/SERVER) ensures systems integration through data design Designs, implements and maintains complex databases…Demonstrates expert understanding of database performance tuning, data backup, recovery and security processes/ procedures.  Maintains responsibility for ensuring the integrity and successful recovery of data.  Demonstrates expert knowledge of database design tools and utilities. Qualifications:·  Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent training and experience ·  Graduate degree preferred ·  Approximately 6-9 years experience in field Other Responsibilities: Supports application development teams by recognizing and evaluating database issues and implementing solutions.  Installs, configures, upgrades, and maintains all database systems.  Ensures database reliability and performance.  Develops and coordinates project plans. Qualifications  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum of five years experience designing, tuning, and recovering application databases. Comprehensive knowledge of database technologies. Fundamental knowledge of systems development. Strong written and communication skills.  Other Information Responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrades, application and releasing of maintenance and patches, for Microsoft SQL Server. 3rd level Microsoft SQL Server support. Build and support multiple SQL Server Instances in a cluster environment. Plan and implement backup and recovery of all database information. Overall responsibility for system and application performance, tuning and capacity planning of SQL Server Databases. Review, optimize and be the gatekeeper for all SQL, TSQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers and Database changes. Develop and implement procedures, which facilitate the refreshing of data in non-production environments. Develop and implement Change Control Procedures for migration and synchronization of multiple Database environments. Work closely with internal/external customers to coordinate DBA resources with project deliverables and task priorities. Required Skills: 5+ years Microsoft SQL Server 7 and/or 2000 DBA experience, in a production environment required. 2+ years Microsoft SQL Server 7 and/or 2000 DBA experience with: Standby Databases and Clustering required. Strong verbal, written and Project Management skills required. Strong experience sizing, and administering large enterprise-level databases in a clustered environment required. Experience with Microsoft customer support to troubleshoot technical issues strongly preferred Proficient development skills (SQL, TSQL, Stored Procedures, and Triggers) for the purpose of providing development support and application tuning strongly preferred.
