Position Description:

The Senior Manager of Network Services will plan, implement and support the local and wide area network infrastructure, the voice communication systems, security, and all related infrastructure technologies. Responsible for maintaining continuous availability of the organization’s information resources.• Provide technical management for the company's 24x7 local and wide area production networks, voice systems, and associated infrastructure technologies. • Manage staff of engineers with responsibility for Servers, Telco infrastructure, Desktops and Laptops, LAN and WAN networks. • Implement network security, utilizing tools and techniques in support of company policies. • Serve as project leader for network infrastructure initiatives.• Develop project plans, assign and manage resources, identify and solve problems, meet deliverables.• Design and implement high-quality technical solutions to meet business requirements in a cost-effective fashion.• Establish baseline performance and availability measurements.• Proactively monitor and report on performance and availability metrics for the network infrastructure.• Evaluates and reports on new and emerging network technologies.• Conducts financial analyses to support strategic planning on IT system purchases and upgrades.• Negotiates favorable prices with vendors on hardware and software.• Communicates status of activities with the team, peers, management, and end-users. • Establishes goals and objectives for each sub-department and third party resources; provides regular assessment of achievement against goals and objectives. • Coaches employees, providing career and professional guidance as necessary. • Creates, reviews and approves performance evaluations and hiring actions for personnel within each reporting sub-department ensuring timely completion.• Ensures appropriate staffing to meet service requirements.

Qualifications:

• Expert with IT Systems, web and application servers, storage applications, directories, firewalls, and network architecture. Specific technologies include:o TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routing protocols, Cisco routing/switching platforms.o Network management/monitoring tools and protocol analyzers.o Wireless networking products such as 802.11x in a corporate environment.o Lotus Noteso Network related products such as PIX and VPN, RADIUS and Active Directory.o Remote access (IPSec and SSL VPN) technologies.o VoIP.o Avaya phone systems knowledge desired.• 5+ years of experience in working in a technical operations environment managing infrastructure.• BS in a related field; certifications (CCNA, CCNE, CCNP, CISSA) a plus.• Internet computing, systems security and user administration best practices experience
