We’re looking for a Sr. Marketing Analyst to join the team, the Marketing Analyst is responsible for developing and managing a highly integrated marketing analytics system, measuring marketing activities, creating actionable marketing reports and making sound program recommendations to support strategic and tactical business decisions by performing the following duties:
Essential Functions:
Develop and maintain a standard set (customer driven) of key promotions metrics/reports/presentations for use by Channel Marketing Director, Sales Managers and Executive Leadership team membersAnalyze and interpret regional sales and marketing effort and compare to annual goals and determine variance by accountCompile and analyze statistics to identify opportunities or trends in promotions effectivenessAnalyze data to isolate challenges and opportunities, work with Promotions Manager to develop corrective action based on promotions dataRun variance data queries and implement modeling techniques to identify challenges, trends, and strategic opportunities then formulate recommendations and present as appropriateConducts analytically-intensive tasks to generate campaign findings, analytic insights/recommendations to optimize marketing campaigns. Utilize database knowledge, programming skills and data manipulation/query tools to produce actionable reports (e.g. list counts, ad hoc queries, summary reports, etc.)Summarize/communicate analytic findings and recommendations via executive-level summary documents and presentationsOversee maintenance, management and accuracy of 3PC toolset and database, develop variance reports and work with data owners to ensure zero varianceUtilize data analysis/statistical techniques to develop analytic insightsEnsure quality of data environment, processing steps and deliverablesDevelop comparative account profiles to assist with managing price offers, GM variances to budget and COT price structure tolerance
Specific Skills:
Broad knowledge of business financial reporting and processes with an accent on understanding the information produced and the significance of the resulting data (Focus on using data rather than producing data)Strong background in data manipulation/analysis (including transactional data). Experiential knowledge of marketing techniques for: testing/evaluation of campaign elements, measurement/reporting of campaign metrics. Experience in marketing research and/or marketing analytics. Experience with interactive data a plus Experience with data set creation/manipulation (sorting, merging, variable creation). Strong strategic thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify business issues/opportunities and to frame business questions Skilled with the tools of primary (qualitative and quantitative) and secondary research and data analysis Excellent analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to translate data and information into actionable insights and business recommendations Ability to design and effectively and efficiently implement market research plans Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly and succinctly and work with other cross functional and cultural team members and managementStrong proficiency using business intelligence (BI) tools such as Business Objects requiredSignificant experience using/building models to set goals or to forecast results.Experience developing marketing and financial metrics.Experience building forecastsWorking knowledge of TPM softwareUnderstand of and experience in retail environments and promotional practicesAbility to recognize trends in data and relationships between data elements for use in determining future growth patterns.Experience forecasting market performance measures or finance metrics.Able to move seamlessly from strategic planning to tactical executionAbility to prioritize work and follow through on deadlines in a fast paced and ever changing environment
Education and or Experience:
Quantitative Bachelors degree preferred or the equivalent of education, course work, study and work experience to perform the essential functions of the position3-5 years of professional experience in an analytical environment preferably in marketing data analysis, or in a related area
