Sr. iSeries Systems Administrator

Designs and executes solutions (projects) to improve the ISERIES environment Evaluates Operations and Technical Services procedures to identify inefficiencies, security exposures and procedural problems, and makes recommendations Works with vendors and management to plan and execute system upgrades/improvements, including hardware, operating system software, utility software, connectivity solutions, etc Provides training to Operations and Technical Services staff members Creates programs and system menus to aid in the daily management of ISERIES systems and that provide integration with advanced technologies such as MQ and High Availability.24/7 rotating pager support Qualifications Require college degree or equivalent relevant work experienceExpert level iSeries SecurityRPG and CL programming and demonstrated Systems programming skills Experience working in a LPAR environment including management, troubleshooting, and configuration DR Planning, participation, and guidanceSoftware Knowledge: IBM Certified OS400 systems management (Professional Certification) iSeries experience a mustExpert troubleshooting skills in all areas of systems management, with an eye towards speedy resolution and root cause analysisMust be able to work independently with outside vendors and drive those vendors to problem closure Communications - TCP/IP, SNA, DDM, FTP, DNS Apply
