Staff Accountant

We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant at our Corporate location in Katy, TX.  This person will report to the Financial Analyst.

 

Responsibilities include:Prepares daily cash summary report and cash deposit disbursement journals. Maintains daily bank, deposit and debit information. Uploads AP batch files daily. Prepares and uploads weekly cash deposits/disbursements journal to the PeopleSoft General Ledger. Codes miscellaneous deposits from corporate. Manages and coordinates new store bank set-ups. Prepares reconciliation for petty cash and bank accounts. Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents. Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends. Enters financial information into computer. Maintains financial security by following internal controls. Maintains confidentiality of Academy’s financial information. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies Duties may change and associates may be required to perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of related work experience required. Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experience required.
