Store Manager Trainee
Job Description Participates actively in community programs, such as joining local organizations and/or advisory boards and assisting in various community events. ¿ Merchandising Conducts daily tours of the Facility visually scanning each assigned department and verifying that merchandise is in-stock, appropriately signed, and the departments are fully stocked, neat, clean, and organized. ¿ Monitors the Back Room, including visually evaluating the area and verifying that merchandise is appropriately received and safely organized by Associates, consistent with the Back Room Program. ¿ Analyzes PI reports, such as warehouse order, supplemental order, purchase recaps, open-to-buy, and truck reports, to monitor inventory levels. ¿ Identifies merchandise to be moved to the sales floor to ensure proper levels of in-stock and to make room for newly arriving merchandise, and ensures that those steps are implemented. ¿ Communicates with supervisory positions and ICS Team detailing what actions need to be taken by Associates to maintain the Back Room and move merchandise. ¿ Analyzes O ¿ n-hand Change Report and approves changes. Scans merchandise labels of low, out-of-stock, and overstock merchandise, and confirms accurate on-hands and makes necessary adjustments to system. ¿ Educates, informs, and directs supervisory positions to review, identify, and remove merchandise that is distressed or unacceptable in appearance to ensure quality and freshness. ¿ ¿ Evaluates the sales and profit performance of products and develops and implements appropriate action plans to improve sales. Directs Department Managers/Leads in adjusting inventory, changing displays, and repositioning merchandise to improve sales potential. ¿ People ¿ Supports and encourages Open Door Policy by creating a positive, productive, and engaging environment for all Associates. Upholds and practices the Company's Open Door Policy by meeting with Associates and listening to concerns, researching issues, reviewing Company policies and procedures, and suggesting resolution for Associates. ¿ ¿ Conducts, oversees, and finalizes Redbook investigations. ¿ Understands and applies the principles of Servant Leadership. ¿ Interacts with Associates through CBWA. ¿ Assists with Redbook investigations. ¿ Oversees investigations on misconduct and policy violation issues, ensuring documentation is completed. ¿ Approves all terminations of Associates. ¿ Investigates and documents alleged misconduct and policy violations. ¿ Ensures Associates are properly trained. ¿ Provides recognition for Associate performance. Provides salaried Managers with an understanding of appropriate disciplinary action for performance and behavior situations, and provides recommendations regarding disciplinary action. ¿ ¿ Oversees and monitors terminations of Associates. ¿ Evaluates Management performance, completes documentation, and meets with Managers to discuss findings and observations. Coaches and mentors Managers and/or Associates by working with them to understand their career aspirations, performance, and capabilities, and provides counsel and input on how to grow and improve their careers. ¿ ¿ Reviews results of Leadership Survey to understand Associate issues and concerns. ¿ Analyzes People P&L, monitors turnover levels, and develops action plans to increase retention. Bakery, Produce, Meat & Deli, Dry Grocery Ensures adherence by Associates to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates, including identifying and directing the removal of merchandise that is distressed or unacceptable in appearance to ensure quality and freshness. ¿ ¿ Reacts to results of Food Safety Audit, analyzes results, develops action plans, communicates, and oversees execution of plans. ¿ Evaluates the food preparation and storage areas for cleanliness and sanitary conditions. ¿ Merchandising: Knowledge of merchandising and cross-merchandising procedures, including choosing displays, setting them up, stocking, ordering, receiving, Company programs, and the ability to train others to do so. ¿ Customer/Member Count: Knowledge of Customer/Member traffic flow and shopping patterns, as well as the scheduling of Associates and the impact on the Facility due to such traffic flow and shopping patterns. ¿ Sales Budgets: The ability to forecast, develop, and execute sales budgets. ¿ Sales Goals: Knowledge of a Facility¿s financial goals and objectives, as well as the financial goals and objectives of the Company as a whole, and the ability to develop and implement strategies to meet sales goals. ¿ Backroom Program: Knowledge of and the ability to enforce the guidelines and procedures for Associate maintenance of the Company Backroom Program and ensuring in-stock and flow of merchandise. ¿ Community Programs and Events: Knowledge of Company guidelines and the benefit of involvement in and promotion of communitybased Good. ¿ Quality Assurance: Knowledge of and the ability to enforce expected food/merchandise quality, product rotation, date coding, product recalls, and sanitation standards. ¿ Payroll Guidelines: Knowledge of and the ability to administer and enforce Wal-Mart/SAM¿S CLUB payroll guidelines by following and ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and procedures. ¿ Product Quality and Appearance: Knowledge of and the ability to enforce quality and appearance guidelines for all food and food service areas. ¿ Freezer and Cooler Temperature Standards: Knowledge of and the ability to enforce proper procedures related to temperature standards for all refrigerated and frozen storage and selling areas, including load limit guidelines for display cases.**This position will be in CRANBERRY TNSHIP/EV, PA** Qualifications for the job are listed below: Entry Requirements Eligibility Requirements Meet applicable ¿ eligibility requirements (see PD-05).
