Supply Chain Systems Support Specialist

The Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM), a multi-billion dollar global retail company providing retail stores and services on Navy Bases around the world, headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking an experienced  SUPPLY CHAIN SYSTEMS SUPPORT SPECIALIST.

 

POSITION:  SUPPLY CHAIN SYSTEMS SUPPORT SPECIALIST

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

-  Assists the business lead, including requirements and process development  of systems projects.  Acts as liaison between merchandising and information technology (IT). 

 

-  Partners with IT and business users to define system requirements, develop functional specifications, and perform system and end-user testing.

 

-  Assists in maintaining training documentation and information bulletins for merchandising systems.

 

-  Monitor and resolve requests from end users within an established timeframe as it relates to the merchandising systems.  Partner with IT when necessary to identify and determine a resolution.

 

-  Partner with all team members, technical and functional, to meet company objectives.  Maintain communication with team members and team leaders.

 

-  Coordinates and assists in managing projects as a representative of merchandising.

 

-  Assists in developing and implementing programs, plans, policies and procedures as it relates to merchandising business objectives.

 

-  Partners with business users to drive process improvements.

 

-  Ability to effectively use Microsoft Access and Excel to run reports and troubleshoot system issues.

 

-  Assists and coordinates training with appropriate divisions to ensure the full potential and benefits of the merchandising system are realized.

 

-  Responsible for managing and performing excellent customer service (which can include associates, stores, or vendors).

 

-  Responsible for maintaining data integrity, and resolve or identify any problems

 

-  Reports directly to a merchandise systems manager.

 REQUIREMENTS

 

POSITION TITLE:  Supply Chain System Support Specialist

SERIES/GRADE: NF-1101-04

 

A total of 4 years experience consisting of the following:

 

General Experience:

 

  Three (3) years experience in merchandising, technical, or either work which enabled the applicant to gain knowledge of merchandising and procurement practices, skill in working with others, and the ability to exercise mature judgment.

 

OR

 

Substitution of Education for Experience:

 

  One (1) year of business or technical (computer) academic study above the high level may be substituted for nine (9) months of experience, up to a maximum of a four (4) year bachelor’s degree for three (3) years of general experience.

 

AND

 

Specialized Experience:

a)  One (1) year of experience in merchandising, computer systems support, or other work which demonstrated skill in the use of informations systems to replenish basic stock, and familiarity with the use of retail merchandising information systems.

b)  Reviewing and analyzing policy and procures to improve business processes; or similar work which demonstrated the knowledge and ability to perform the duties of this position.

c)  The ability to use a personal computer as a communication and analysis tool.

d)  Ability to use Microsoft Access and Excel.
