Systems Support Specialist

Shopbop.com is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amazon.com and is based in Madison, Wisconsin. Shopbop.com is seeking a mid-level Systems Support Specialist to join the Infrastructure Support team. The Support Specialist will be responsible for installing and maintaining Linux and Microsoft servers along with their related applications. Reporting to the Production Systems Lead, the Support Specialist will proactively monitor and troubleshoot development, test, and production environments and handle 2nd level support issues. Additional responsibilities include setup and maintenance of both clustered and virtualized environments, and managing of third-party application installation and maintenance.

Required Skills:

· IT Professional with minimum 5 years industry experience.

· Minimum of 2 years experience with Red Hat Linux.

· Enterprise Linux 4 ES/AS and Enterprise Linux 5.

· Samba/Active Directory setup and maintenance.

· Proficient with shell/perl/javascipt scripting.

· Experience in performing administration functions, including installations and configurations, automating tasks, backups and restores, security and permissions, and tuning.

· Knowledge of clustered environments

· Minimum 2 years experience with Microsoft Server 2000/2003 and related technologies.

· Administration of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.

· Familiarity with MS Exchange 2003/2007 administration.

· Working knowledge of IIS and Apache Web Services.

· Hands-on experience with enterprise-level backup solutions such as Veritas NetBackup.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Ability to deliver and perform under pressure and on time, both independently and in a team environment.

 

Desirable Skills:

· Virtualization technologies experience (VMWare, Xen, MS Virtual Server).

· EMC SAN administration experience.
