Position: Store Manager (SM) - Exempt

 

Reports to: District Manager

 Roles and Responsibilities

All ASM and Operations Manager responsibilities PLUS,

·  Recruit and Network all store level positions

·  Succession planning within store and outside store

·  Final interview and position offer for SA position if below mid point of salary range

·  Authorize training / competence of all SA

·  Approves performance appraisal on all SA

·  Management of ASM and Operations Manager

·  Responsible for compliance with Timberland standards in all aspects

·  Partners with DM to obtain approval of overtime usage

·  Competitive market survey / analysis

·  Participate in corporate projects, committees, initiatives as required

·  Minimum of 75% of time spent on floor

 Accountable for: Comp sales, SPAH, UPT, ADS, Visual Merchandising Standards, Shrink, Payroll, Controllable expenses, Employee Turnover and retention, Training and Appraisals of ASM’s and OM’s.

 

 

For a internal Store Manager to be promoted to a District Manager:

1)  There must be a vacant position

2)  Has no outstanding HR or LP issues

3)  SM must demonstrate Excellence as Store Manager

4)  Successful Complete Management Training Program (HR developed program)

 

For an external candidate, must have been a District Manager for another retailer, and complete a 1 month rotation of training in TSR store (1 week) or TFO store (1 week), with a Experienced DM (1 week), and in the corporate office (1 week).
