TOOTSIES Ladies Shoe Buyer

Tootsies, an upscale women’s multi-store boutique, carries designer to contemporary, shoes and handbags and day time to cocktail dresses.  TOOTSIES is widely known for carrying international and domestic designer brands, as well as, elite newcomers to fashion.  This luxury women’s retail boutique company is seeking a Ladies Shoes Buyer in our corporate office located in Houston (Galleria-area).

 

Summary:  To plan, develop, source and select merchandise range for assigned product group(s) to achieve, or exceed, sales plans, markup, markdown, stock-turn and inventory levels.

 

Position Key Responsibilities:

· Effectively communicate merchandising strategies, assortment and Buys to Owner

· Monitors industry trends, evaluates competition and attends appropriate markets

· Analyzes previous business, market trends, target customer, colors, styles, and sizes as well as anticipates future trends to create appropriate strategies

· Understands each store’s market in order to buy and allocate product to maximize profit and company image

· Identifies opportunities to build business and maximize profits, including actively seeks out new Vendors and product lines, securing exclusives and trunk shows

· Negotiates lowest possible costs to meet quality, quantity and scheduled needs

· Manages merchandise replenishment and return to vendors

· Collaborate with Planner to establish seasonal strategies, develop sales, margin, markdown analysis and inventory plans

· Collaborate with Marketing for promotional materials highlighting merchandise

· Participates in weekly Sales training meetings and ensures Sales Associates have product knowledge

· Works with stores on visual merchandising strategies and opportunities

· Visit store locations in Houston, Dallas & Atlanta, as feasible and needed

 

Qualifications:

· 3+ years of Retail Buyer experience, with direct buying responsibility

o  Luxury retail and/or Ladies Shoe buying experience preferred

· Analytical and problem solving skills

· Strong ability to negotiate and make decisions

· Ability to maintain and enhance Vendor and Store Team relationships

· Flexible personality and ability to manage through crisis and conflict

· Exceptional sense of fashion, professionalism and courtesy

· Organizational and prioritization skills, with high attention to detail

· Strong computer skills in Excel (Celerant Point of Sale system experience, a plus)
