As our Tax Counsel for International Tax, you'll serve as the tax advisor to Nike's worldwide tax department, advising management on the tax implications of ongoing and potential business activities and transactions. You'll play a dynamic role in planning and implementing business and Mergers and Acquisitions transactions, serve as a resource for top-management inquiries on tax matters and engage external resources as warranted. You'll drive worldwide tax planning to establish goals and to minimize Nike's overall cash tax rate. You'll also proactively identify tax-planning opportunities through awareness of internal business operations and external benchmarking, as well as develop tax-planning strategies. You'll coordinate with the Treasury Department on plans that involve capital structure and financing activities to ensure optimal overall results. You'll monitor tax legislation and regulatory developments impacting tax and engage in the legislative/regulatory processes as appropriate to influence change. In addition, you'll work with Governmental Affairs to establish international-related legislative priorities and develop a strategic plan for influencing the legislative and rule-making process ensuring tax-lobbying activities are consistent with company policy and in the best interest of Nike. Requirements for the position include: - Bachelor's degree - JD or CPA is strongly preferred - 8+ years' experience with progressive responsibilities in international tax law, financial analysis, strategic planning, accounting and budgeting - Big Four public accounting experience is preferred - Fortune 100 in-house international tax experience is preferred - Experience with US outbound and international mergers and acquisitions is preferred - Excellent knowledge of budgeting, investment analysis and strategic planning concepts - Strong knowledge of tax GAAP - Sound judgment and the ability to provide recommendations toward the determination of policy and strategy - Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills - Ability to effectively communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience Interested yet?
