Technical Analyst - Network Engineer

A+ Consulting currently has a Permanent Job Opportunity in Eden Prairie for a Lead Technical Analyst who has Network Server experience. The person will provide technical expertise in the analysis, decision-making process, design and implementation of computer hardware and infrastructure, operating systems, databases and enterprise wide business applications. Support Web developers and projects as required.

 

Principal duties and responsibilities:Contributes to project success by providing technical leadership on assigned projects.Evaluates and anticipates impact of technical solutions on related projects.Translates technical solutions based on client’s needs and feasibility.Stays current with technology and determines the impact of hardware and/or software upgrades on new and existing applications.Evaluates vendor projects and prepares recommendations.Ensures high quality, adherence to standards and best practices, high performance, and scalable, repeatable processes and deliverables.Understands interrelationships and impacts of systems and applications in our environment.Participates in project costing.Provides project knowledge and expertise to the IS organization.Communicates project status to all interested parties and ensures team stays on track to satisfy client expectations.Identifies and escalates issues and, when necessary, pulls appropriate teams together to solve challenge/issue, etc.Prioritizes workload and accomplishes assignments on time, ensuring deliverables are high quality.Prepares and conducts technical instruction and mentoring for team members.

Specific duties and responsibilities:Assists development teams in evaluating the technical feasibility of the systems they designProvide technical expertise in the analysis, decision making process, design and implementation of Intel based hardware, operating systems, systems software, and some Local Area Network hardware.Ensures timely maintenance of the operating system on enterprise Intel serversEnsures strong customer service and satisfaction by meeting the needs and requests of internal and external customers in a complete and timely manner.  Acts proactively where possible to minimize problems.Improves the quality of the operational environment by reducing or eliminating unplanned outages, defects, problems and increasing reliability, availability and performanceLeads team in resolution of production system issues and problemsSets priority and schedule of production system enhancements and fixes

Experience:  Five years systems, technical support or implementation experience in technical services areaStrong verbal, presentation and written communications skills.  Able to explain technical solutions to technical teamsGood interpersonal, problem solving, reasoning and analytical skillsGood planning and organizational skillsSelf-starter with self initiative and directionAbility to work with confidential informationExpertise in the use of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 2000 / Windows 2003), networking and applicationsGood understanding of PC and general office productivity applicationsExperience with web technologies (IIS, .NET, load balancing, etc.)Experience in scripting (VB, VB Script and C)Strong technical knowledge of the Intel platformUnderstanding of fundamental business area processesProven client service skills and customer service commitmentAbility to work independently and as a contributing member to a team.Ability to effectively problem solve in a cross-functional setting.Manages the process of adding software releases or individual applications to the base Intel configurations.Looks for opportunities to improve configurations, tool sets and processesProvide technical consultation for in-house software application development, purchased software evaluation, and support for end-user computing environmentContributes to a project's success by providing technical leadershipActs as a teacher and mentor to other team members.  Build skills in others so that there are others that can perform as a backup for youConduct pilot system studies and perform complete system implementationsProvide world class Technical Services support to development teams. Provide world class Technical Services production support services for assigned projectsProvide high quality and responsive support servicesImprove the quality of the operational environment by reducing or eliminating unplanned outages, defects, problems, and increasing reliability, availability, and performancePlan and manage projects while assessing situations for appropriate timing and approachPrioritize workload and accomplish assignments on time, on budget, and with high qualitySupport other project teams as appropriate to facilitate their on-time, high quality deliveryEducates clients on your roles and responsibilitiesDevelop and expand technical and personal skills and expertise in the Intel based technologiesComplete all administration in a timely and quality manner including status meetings and reports, timekeeping, attendance at staff meetings, and expense reimbursementsProvide technical assistance to others as neededWork effectively in team situations with other groups throughout the organizationIdentify and escalate solutions to improve the productivity and quality of systems throughout IS
