Technical Manager/Textile Chemist for Technical Textiles

Precision Fabrics Group, Inc. has a challenging opportunity for a
Technical Manager/Textile Chemist for technical textile markets at their
Greensboro, North Carolina facility. MUST have a 4-year degree,
preferably in chemistry, textiles, engineering, material science or
related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years experience in product and
business development. Textile chemistry experience with woven fabrics
for speciality home furnishing markets would be a major plus. Must have excellent
communication skills, both written and oral, to be successful in working
with customers, manufacturing, marketing, and vendors.

This position will report to the Senior Product Manager and will manage
product development, process development, business development, and cost
reduction projects. The individual will operate in a team environment
and will coordinate efforts to commercialize new textile products and
technologies. Working skills with marketing, sales, technical, and
manufacturing professionals are ESSENTIAL to success. The candidate
must be creative, with the ability to work and think independently. The
successful candidate will have an understanding of yarns, woven fabrics,
and textile dyeing and finishing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Manage product development, process development, business
development, and cost reduction projects.

2. Conduct laboratory, pilot line, and manufacturing experiments.

3. Analyze data, set specifications, and solve technical problems.

4. Support and work closely with marketing and sales.

5. Assist in solving manufacturing problems, facilitate process
improvements.

6. Write reports, maintain a laboratory notebook, and prepare
patent documents.

7. Travel as needed to develop new products (estimated 25%
travel).

8. Comfortable in technical, business, and strategic situations.
