Toys R Us - Department Manager - Joliet, IL Distribution CenterToys 'R' Us is seeking a 2nd shift Department Manager in our modern, fully automated Joliet, IL Distribution Center.  The Joliet DC employs approximately 150 people and serves over 60 stores in 7 states, and is conveniently located off of I-55 less than 40 miles from downtown Chicago.Ideal candidates are team players who thrive and play to win in a challenging fast paced distribution environment, bring out the best in others, and demonstrate the potential to advance and grow within the company.  Our success is driven by a culture of working together as a team, and measured by how we treat our family of associates in order to achieve results.Position SummaryEffectively manage all aspects of the daily operations of the department, achieving results through strong leadership and people skills. Core Responsibilities Supervise, coach and develop associates to achieve results. Ensure associate safety through education and training, and promoting safety awareness. Work with other departments as an effective team member to achieve overall shift and building goals. Effectively communicate company standards, goals and objectives. Train and coach associates in proper work methods and procedures to meet job standards and requirements. Identify and pursue opportunities to improve department and DC performance. Analyze workload and adjust staffing accordingly to accomplish operational goals.  Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Management, Logistics, or related field. 2 – 3 years of related experience in a distribution environment, or comparable internship or co-op experience is a plus.
