The Training Specialist develops training programs, produces materials, facilitates sessions, coordinates logistics, and tracks participation. The position serves as the systems administrator for the company’s talent management systems and provides support for other areas of talent management, including recruiting, performance management, succession planning, and change management.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

•  Assists with the design, development, and delivery of classroom training, e-learning, and distance training for the company; applies the appropriate delivery mechanism to meet the diverse needs of learners in a retail environment.

•  Implements adult-learning techniques in classroom facilitation and in written documentation.

•  Analyzes training practices and makes recommendations for continual improvement.

•  Plans and coordinates training logistics (room reservations, participant scheduling, A/V equipment, and course materials) and tracks participant attendance, evaluations, and scores.

•  Develops, designs, and programs comprehensive e-learning solutions; implements and supports virtual learning deployed via a learning management system.

•  Builds and maintains relationships with vendors, technical consultants, and functional consultants to resolve system issues and develop recommendations.

•  Assists end-users with issues and resolves system problems as needed; partners with IS members on various initiatives.

 

 

Qualifications

•  Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, communications, adult education, or a related field.

•  Minimum of two years’ experience with online learning management systems and with delivering/facilitating training.

•  Strong PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Adobe Captivate and Flash, along with experience with either a LMS or LCMS.

•  Strong desire and ability to energize, educate, coach, and develop others.

•  Outstanding communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of employees.

•  Ability to motivate audience members and gain their participation.

•  Strong organizational and project coordination skills with keen attention to detail.
