User Interface Designer

Diapers.com, cited by Internet Retailer as one of the fastest growing e-commerce companies and dedicated to making parents’ life easier by offering a wide selection of baby essentials at great prices and with great service, is looking for an experienced User Interface Designer with a strong graphic design background who is ready to grow her or his responsibilities, take ownership of the site’s user experience, and become part of a dynamic team that prizes intelligence, creativity and a healthy sense of fun and camaraderie.

This position will assume the lead on optimizing and furthering our UI and help define and maintain our visual identity. We will look to the successful candidate to provide strategic guidance in recommending new customer-centric  features and interfaces.

Areas of responsibility include:

UI Strategy & DesignCreate best practices on modern UI paradigms, especially those that take advantage of Web 2.0 functionality. Monitor, test and optimize customer shopping workflows.Create user flows, wireframes and mockup designs for developers.Collaborate with marketing and merchandizing departments to create UI requirements and design elements.Manage and QA projects with off-shore development team.

Graphic DesignCreate graphics both for the site and marketing efforts, including emails and banners.Manage and maintain image updates to the site.


Position RequirementsAt least 2 years of UI and web design experience, preferably in an e-commerce environment. Portfolio of interactive graphic design work.Coding knowledge is not required, but a good understanding of how DHTML, XML, Javascript and XML power modern Web 2.0 design is.Strong experience with Photoshop and Illustrator; basic Flash knowledge.
